It is important to install the game correctly before playing; installation is a one-time process that only takes a few minutes. Please follow the instructions below:
Double-click on the Batman Arkham Asylum.dmg file and wait for the Batman Arkham Asylum icon to appear on your desktop.
Double-click on the Batman Arkham Asylum icon to open it.
Drag the Batman Arkham Asylum icon onto the Applications folder that appears next to it. It will start to copy across.
Once the copy has finished, drag the Batman Arkham Asylum icon on your Desktop to the Trash. You may now delete the Batman Arkham Asylum.dmg file.
Once installation is complete, double-click on the Batman Arkham Asylum application icon, which is found in the Applications folder on your hard drive. The pre-game Options window will appear showing the Activation Panel.
Enter your Product Key into the six empty boxes. Once the Product Key has been entered, the Save button in the right-hand corner of the Panel will activate. If you cannot find your Product Key after downloading the game please contact the vendor for assistance.
Click the Save button to save your Product Key.
Click the Activate Online… button in the Activation Panel. A dialog will appear confirming that your Product Key will be sent to Feral's server. Click the Activate Online… button in the dialog. After a few seconds a message will appear confirming that your game has been successfully activated. The Activation Panel will update showing you the number of machines on which you are allowed to activate the game and how many machines are currently activated. In future, you may play the game without an internet connection.
You can now move onto the "Getting Started" section below, which will take you through playing the game for the first time.
If Batman Arkham Asylum is not already running, double-click on the Batman Arkham Asylum application icon. By default this is to be found in the Applications folder on your computer's hard drive.
The pre-game options screen will appear. Click on the Play button. The game will launch.
When the title screen appears, press the Return (or ⏎) key on the keyboard, or START on a gamepad to select the game input device.
A Saved Game Select menu will appear, highlight one of the slots and press Return (or ⏎) to continue.
You will now be shown a Game Options menu where you can set the brightness level and enable subtitles. Highlight CONTINUE and press Return (or ⏎).
Now select the difficulty setting for the game. NORMAL is the default setting which should be challenging enough for most players.
Once you are happy with your difficuly setting, press Return (or ⏎) and you will soon find your self in the Batmobile, escorting the Joker through the dark streets of Gotham City. The next stop is Arkham Asylum, where the night is just beginning...
The most important factors in determining how smoothly Batman Arkham Asylum plays are your CPU speed, the amount of built-in RAM, the type of graphics card in your computer, and the in-game settings you select.
Batman Arkham Asylum is playable with the minimum specifications listed below, but it will play more smoothly on faster computers with more RAM and a more powerful graphics card. However, if you are dissatisfied with the performance of the game on your computer, there are a couple of things you can do that are likely to improve performance:
In addition to these general Mac actions, there are some specific in-game settings you can select to speed up the game. These are listed below in order of performance improvement (largest improvement first). Move down the list making changes until you find settings that give you both good performance and acceptable graphics.
NOTE: All of these settings are found in Batman Arkham Asylum's pre-game Options window under the Video tab.
Feral games come with a pre-game Options window, this is accessed by holding down the Command key (⌘) when you start the game. This window offers Mac-specific extra features, described below.
Extras Tab - iTunes Pausing - Default Setting - On
Selecting this feature will automatically pause any currently playing song in iTunes while Batman Arkham Asylum is running. Playback will be resumed when the game is quit or paused.
Extras Tab - iChat Away Status - Default Setting - Off
Selecting this feature will automatically set your iChat status to "away" while Batman Arkham Asylum is running. You can select different "away" messages from the pop-up menu. The "away" options are taken from the user's iChat status listings.
Support Tab - Support - A Helping Hand
If you encounter a problem with Batman Arkham Asylum, you can use the Support tab to consult Feral's online FAQs. If your problem is not covered by the FAQs, you can contact Feral using the automated game report system. This automatically creates a file with information about your computer that is useful to the Feral Technical Support team in helping to solve the problem.
Support Tab - Updates - Default Setting - On
This feature checks for new and updated versions of Batman Arkham Asylum based on information about your computer and current software. The automatic check is only performed when you are connected to the internet; no identifying information is sent from your computer. For more information, click on the Privacy Policy button.
If you should wish to uninstall Batman Arkham Asylum, simply drag the application called Batman Arkham Asylum from your hard drive and drop it in the Trash, then empty the Trash. You may also wish to remove the Batman Arkham Asylum preferences, which are stored in a folder called Feral Interactive in your computer's ~/Library/Application Support folder (where the "~" symbol refers to your home directory). Deleting the preferences folder will remove the save files, and all game progress will be lost.
IMPORTANT: If you have more than one game from Feral Interactive installed, remember to check inside the folder so that you do not delete preferences for other Feral Interactive games.

The following cards require you to have 4GB of System RAM: NVIDIA 320M, Intel HD 3000.
The following graphics cards are not supported: ATI X1xxx series, NVIDIA 9400, NVIDIA 7xxx series and Intel GMA series.
Every effort has been made to make Batman Arkham Asylum as compatible with current hardware as possible. However, if you are experiencing problems when running Batman Arkham Asylum, please read on.

All the information required can be obtained by opening Batman Arkham Asylum and clicking on the Support tab in the Batman Arkham Asylum pre-game Options window. In the Support tab, click on the Generate Report button; this will grey out and a progress wheel and status message will appear below it. Once the report is generated it will appear as a file called Batman Arkham Asylum Report.txt on your desktop. Now click on the Create Email button. Remember to attach the file called Batman Arkham Asylum Report.txt to your e-mail.
